Note for Nikon shooters
If you are in Bangkok and have a problem with your camera, I recommend heading over to NIKS.* They have a very competent floor staff and a basic repair facility. They speak enough English, and I’ll bet a bit of other languages as well. I had to go there yesterday after I found that our TSA friends had dinged the filter mount on my 24-70 and bent it in just enough so that filters could not be screwed in. While I will have to send the lens in for a more permanent repair when I return home (sorry Noel, not my fault this time), they managed to get it workable again in just a few minutes.
* Do NOT go to the website located at niksthailand.com. It will redirect you to some crazy Russian sight that is flagged for downloading malware.
